Bait & Switch for terrible service
We used to host with GoDaddy. After several updates from our software provider, we were getting Error 500 intermittently. Phoning round several ISP's Bluehost appeared to know of the problem, and suggested their Cloud Hosting service would cure the problem.
It didn't. In fact, it transpired that Bluehost Cloud service operated on obsolete, and no longer supported version of the operating system, MySQL server and PHP.
After 6 months of support calls, Bluehost finally admitted that the Cloud hosting service was not what we needed, and we would have to migrate to a VPS (bait & switch). We were given a "special" support number to call VPS support directly.
Then after migrating, we found the system, which we had to upgrade, using their supplied WHM and cPanel services, to the latest versions of software, wouldn't work at all.
Their "special" supports attitude was that it was a VPS and it was now our problem to support it.
After 28 hours of troubleshooting and debugging, we identified that it was Bluehost installed code, that we were neither told about nor gave them permission to load, was causing the problem.
It was resetting the service to look for an older software handler.
Once we located and deleted the code, the service operated as expected.
Again, after calling the "special" VPS support line to ask why, the response was "that code is on all of our systems.
So, anyone using a Bluehost server expecting to be able to run Wordpress on PHP 7+ beware. They reset the Apache Handler back to PHP 5.6 and the only way to fix it is to delete the Bluehost plugins in the mu-plugins folder under WordPress and edit the .htaccess file to take the handler out.
Better still, don't use Bluehost.

No Support
I can't login to bluehost. No matter where I try to login from, it gets stuck on the page "alright world, time to take you on!" and goes no further.
Each time I've called, they have no reason as to why and can't give an answer to a fix. They just give you some address to type in that only their technical support would know and then the edit page opens up. But no explanation as to why I can't login. Then, once I launched my site to go live, the website address is some temporary domain name instead of MY website.
When I called them yet AGAIN, they said "oh you need to contact wordpress and have them point the site to our URL." If they are affiliated and I PAID bluehost, why should I have to contact wordpress to do that? You know why? Because there is no contact phone number for Wordpress so they want you to pay THEM for that as some additional service.
I've emailed Wordpress twice to no avail so the scheme is so transparent. So here I am, wanting to blog and can't, while I paid these people over $100 for nothing.

Design Services are a joke!
FRAUDS
Contracted with Bluehost's Full Service Website Development program to the tune of about $2400.00. Based on the hype that Allen Dunn in sales provided, 1was promised a professionally designed and complete website in approximately 20 business days. I was directed to a Roberto Rexach Soto with Endurance to design my website.
For consumer information, Bluehost does not directly design your website. They either subcontract with or, as I was informed, under an umbrella company which includes Endurance.
Roberto met with me for about 30 minutes, and in that brief amount of time is supposed to know exactly what my website needs are including the direction I wanted to go with the website development of my website.
Suffice to say, Roberto with Endurance was probably the most ill prepared and talent lacking website designer I have met. He went so far as to state in what he created for me that I decided to offer my product through my E-commerce store because I was unsuccessful with attempting to sell my product with PetSmart, Costco, and Walmart.
Now I ask you what idiot in their right mind would come out and inform a potential buyer of my product that I resorted to trying to sell product on my own because the aforementioned companies were not interested in my product.
HOW RIDICULOUS!
So now its well past 20 days and I Had nothing of substance from Roberto. I decided to cancel due to non performance and broken promises.
When I spoke to Bluehost billing I informed them of my intentions to cancel due to the issues with Roberto. Bluehost agreed and supposedly would not allow any future payments to be processed. in addition I contacted my credit card to create a dispute.
Several days lapsed and Bluehost was now sending me payment due notice after attempts to charge my card.
Finally received an email from Bluehost that they removed charges from my account. When I attempted to go back into my account to review status, I was then locked out of my account.
Just received email from Bluehost indicating they will not tolerate my actions to dispute their charges after they informed me that they closed account.
My response to Bluehost, I WILL NOT TOLERATE THE FRAUDULANT TACTICS YOU USED TO COECE ME INTO THINKING YOU KNEW WHAT THE *** YOU ARE DOING. YOU ARE ENLISTING A BUNCH OF AMATEURS To PERFORM A PROFESSIONALS JOB.

Bluehost is bunch of thieves and liars
First, they had an "account verification" problem, and I couldn't use the page (cPanel). I had to ask only 7 employers for assistance.
Then, they finally verified my account. But when I opened my account, here came another surprise: I have to pay them to "add hosting" option? After all of that??? Really???
They couldn't have told me I'll have to pay another 70$ (for 12 months) while I was buying a domain? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM??? They are liars, deceivers and totally unreliable. BlueHost is a fraud.
I want 50% of discount for this year. If not, I want ALL of my money back and I want them to free up my domain name so I can use it again on someone else's domain/host provider.
First, they made me to lose days to finally make someone to do something about my account ("account verification" problem), and than they want me to pay them 70$? ***
- Made a mess and want me to pay to them full price
- Unreliable
- Didnt say i will have to pay 70 dollars a year

I am so angry with bluehost!i
signed up with bluehost under the impression it would cost $5 monthly. then was charged $147.37 at once, taken out of my account.
when i tried to sign in with the password i had created it kept failing. when contacting them, they told me my payment was pending and they hadn't received it. after numerous online chats with them they told me to go to the bank to get proof that the money had actually gone out of my account even though i sent them bank statements before showing the money as taken out. i went to my bank, got the proof and sent it off to not receive a reply.
i then contacted them again via online chat and was told again that it showed as pending and not taken out of my account. i kept insisting that it had been taken out and that i want a refund. now they will contact me about it (apparently) within 48 hours! such a joke!
and after reading other reviews i'm worried that i will never see my money again and have no hosting services to show for! i am a single mom and $150 out of my account for nothing is not something i can afford.
i can only warn anyone to never ever use bluehost. they should be charged and go to jail for stealing money from families like that!

We are also getting the same error for the last 5 months and even after multiple chats and tickets, they issue still persists. I am literally fed-up with the B!!Sh!t service.
But unable to change hosting as we are tight on budget.
I was trying some other way to report to the Endurance/bluehost superior officers of this and stumbled upon this. If anyone has a valid email which gets directly to CEO or other top level management teams please share, thanks.
WOW use to get great customer service waited just a few minutes! Now I have to spell my business of which they never understand!
Then wait 45 min to one hour for someone to call me back which often doesn't happen. Then I get someone overseas I cant understand! Never get my issue resolved.
Getting too big for their britches! Poor poor customer service these days.
They will email you a token which generally gets a fairly fast response. However, I have premium service so I guess it depends on what you purchase. But the voice recognition system is funky.
