Server Issues and now Suspended Site.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Bluehost is known for negative customer reviews and there server downtime is awful. I had site downtime for a week. Now all of a sudden my websites are down due to a Suspended Status. They are telling me I violated Terms. They are accussing me of allowing music streaming illegally. I have proof that this is a legit script I bought and I even have API Keys through both Spotify and You Tube that I obtained by appliying for them.

I only use my account for email. They tell me they don't provide email service. I ask, how am I getting email if you don't provide it? No answer. While they don't provide email, it magically starts working every time (getting to be every two or three weeks) and then they tell me they didn't do a thing. It timed out and when it rebooted it worked. Well, a timeout doesn't cause a reboot. And if they are using the latest equipment, it doesn't take over five minutes to reboot. But the "manager" I just talked to insisted that a time out and reboot are the same thing and that their systems "magically" reboot without human intervention even if they are "hung". I've worked in IT for 30 years and spent 5 years working for an Internet Service Provider. I know when someone doesn't have a clue what they are talking about. The other thing is, I can't get my validation token from them because my email is down. I don't know my password because it is stored in a password save on my system, and the genius wants to reset my password to fix the problem and then send me a validation key to my email. Why is it the first thing they want to do is reset your password? And how do they reset your password, send you a link in an email. Can they hire someone with a brain in their head that realizes if you can't get email, you can't get an emailed token or an emailed link to reset your password? And they can't figure out why that makes me ILL!!!!!!

Bait & Switch for terrible service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We used to host with GoDaddy. After several updates from our software provider, we were getting Error 500 intermittently. Phoning round several ISP's Bluehost appeared to know of the problem, and suggested their Cloud Hosting service would cure the problem.

It didn't. In fact, it transpired that Bluehost Cloud service operated on obsolete, and no longer supported version of the operating system, MySQL server and PHP.

After 6 months of support calls, Bluehost finally admitted that the Cloud hosting service was not what we needed, and we would have to migrate to a VPS (bait & switch). We were given a "special" support number to call VPS support directly.

Then after migrating, we found the system, which we had to upgrade, using their supplied WHM and cPanel services, to the latest versions of software, wouldn't work at all.

Their "special" supports attitude was that it was a VPS and it was now our problem to support it.

After 28 hours of troubleshooting and debugging, we identified that it was Bluehost installed code, that we were neither told about nor gave them permission to load, was causing the problem.

It was resetting the service to look for an older software handler.

Once we located and deleted the code, the service operated as expected.

Again, after calling the "special" VPS support line to ask why, the response was "that code is on all of our systems.

So, anyone using a Bluehost server expecting to be able to run Wordpress on PHP 7+ beware. They reset the Apache Handler back to PHP 5.6 and the only way to fix it is to delete the Bluehost plugins in the mu-plugins folder under WordPress and edit the .htaccess file to take the handler out.

Better still, don't use Bluehost.

We are also getting the same error for the last 5 months and even after multiple chats and tickets, they issue still persists. I am literally fed-up with the B!!Sh!t service.

But unable to change hosting as we are tight on budget.

I was trying some other way to report to the Endurance/bluehost superior officers of this and stumbled upon this. If anyone has a valid email which gets directly to CEO or other top level management teams please share, thanks.

WOW use to get great customer service waited just a few minutes! Now I have to spell my business of which they never understand!

Then wait 45 min to one hour for someone to call me back which often doesn't happen. Then I get someone overseas I cant understand! Never get my issue resolved.

Getting too big for their britches! Poor poor customer service these days.

They will email you a token which generally gets a fairly fast response. However, I have premium service so I guess it depends on what you purchase. But the voice recognition system is funky.

No Refund Even When Promised Repeatedly

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
On 08/08/2019 I signed up for BlueHost web site hosting and when I found out that technical support would be $100 per month, I called 4 hours later for a refund of 59.40. I was told it would take 2 days. No refund. Called back, said it would be 5 - 7 business days. Still no refund. Received email saying refund was approved. Still no refund. Just talked to them and they said they would look into it again. This has gone on for going on nearly 2 weeks. Bluehost is a large web site hosting companies and one of the supposed best according to reviews. How they can give a good review to a company that keeps your money and does not give out refunds when they repeatedly say they will and charge $100 per month for tech support is beyond me. Stay away from this company !!!

No Support

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I can't login to bluehost. No matter where I try to login from, it gets stuck on the page "alright world, time to take you on!" and goes no further.

Each time I've called, they have no reason as to why and can't give an answer to a fix. They just give you some address to type in that only their technical support would know and then the edit page opens up. But no explanation as to why I can't login. Then, once I launched my site to go live, the website address is some temporary domain name instead of MY website.

When I called them yet AGAIN, they said "oh you need to contact wordpress and have them point the site to our URL." If they are affiliated and I PAID bluehost, why should I have to contact wordpress to do that? You know why? Because there is no contact phone number for Wordpress so they want you to pay THEM for that as some additional service.

I've emailed Wordpress twice to no avail so the scheme is so transparent. So here I am, wanting to blog and can't, while I paid these people over $100 for nothing.

Design Services are a joke!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I did not have time to get a site up and running and purchased their "design" plan. All they do is have you choose a template, you give them all of your input (pix, text, etc.) and they "design" it for you. There is NO DESIGN involved!! It is simply placing your materials in a template! It took them 4 months to make a half-way site that was incomplete, they missed their "design" appointments, did not make requested changes and were not making the back end of the site usable. Someone told me about WIX and they had a much better site up and running in 4 hours! Needless to say, I told them to stop, cancelled the order and made sure they could not charge me anymore for their fake "design" center.

FRAUDS

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Bluehost - FRAUDS

Contracted with Bluehost's Full Service Website Development program to the tune of about $2400.00. Based on the hype that Allen Dunn in sales provided, 1was promised a professionally designed and complete website in approximately 20 business days. I was directed to a Roberto Rexach Soto with Endurance to design my website.

For consumer information, Bluehost does not directly design your website. They either subcontract with or, as I was informed, under an umbrella company which includes Endurance.

Roberto met with me for about 30 minutes, and in that brief amount of time is supposed to know exactly what my website needs are including the direction I wanted to go with the website development of my website.

Suffice to say, Roberto with Endurance was probably the most ill prepared and talent lacking website designer I have met. He went so far as to state in what he created for me that I decided to offer my product through my E-commerce store because I was unsuccessful with attempting to sell my product with PetSmart, Costco, and Walmart.

Now I ask you what idiot in their right mind would come out and inform a potential buyer of my product that I resorted to trying to sell product on my own because the aforementioned companies were not interested in my product.

HOW RIDICULOUS!

So now its well past 20 days and I Had nothing of substance from Roberto. I decided to cancel due to non performance and broken promises.

When I spoke to Bluehost billing I informed them of my intentions to cancel due to the issues with Roberto. Bluehost agreed and supposedly would not allow any future payments to be processed. in addition I contacted my credit card to create a dispute.

Several days lapsed and Bluehost was now sending me payment due notice after attempts to charge my card.

Finally received an email from Bluehost that they removed charges from my account. When I attempted to go back into my account to review status, I was then locked out of my account.

Just received email from Bluehost indicating they will not tolerate my actions to dispute their charges after they informed me that they closed account.

My response to Bluehost, I WILL NOT TOLERATE THE FRAUDULANT TACTICS YOU USED TO COECE ME INTO THINKING YOU KNEW WHAT THE *** YOU ARE DOING. YOU ARE ENLISTING A BUNCH OF AMATEURS To PERFORM A PROFESSIONALS JOB.

BlueHost...DO NOT HOST WITH THEM AT ALL, PERIOD!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I am writing this email in response to a tech support call that I made to BlueHost and spoke with Devion or Deveon. I gave him my ticket number of 1399**** that has been worked on for a week now. I began to let him know the status of the ticket from beginning to end and he basically said, I CANT HELP YOU! You can wait on the ticket or get CHARGED for services to help you. Blue Host broke the site when they migrated it from STAGING to LIVE on May 6th, 2019 He was very rude and not customer-centric at all. I did not resolve my problems since May 6th. Deveon was very unprofessional in tone and had a don't care attitude when talking with me. Very poor customer service. From here on we will not be recommending BlueHost and we will be moving our sites to a more reliable and customer friendly hosting service. I see BlueHost has a lot of pissed off customers. https://bluehost.pissedconsumer.com/review.html

Bluehost is bunch of thieves and liars

Bluehost is bunch of thieves and liars

First, they had an "account verification" problem, and I couldn't use the page (cPanel). I had to ask only 7 employers for assistance. Shocked

Then, they finally verified my account. But when I opened my account, here came another surprise: I have to pay them to "add hosting" option? After all of that??? Really???

They couldn't have told me I'll have to pay another 70$ (for 12 months) while I was buying a domain? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM??? They are liars, deceivers and totally unreliable. BlueHost is a fraud.

I want 50% of discount for this year. If not, I want ALL of my money back and I want them to free up my domain name so I can use it again on someone else's domain/host provider.

First, they made me to lose days to finally make someone to do something about my account ("account verification" problem), and than they want me to pay them 70$? ***

I am so angry with bluehost!i

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

signed up with bluehost under the impression it would cost $5 monthly. then was charged $147.37 at once, taken out of my account.

when i tried to sign in with the password i had created it kept failing. when contacting them, they told me my payment was pending and they hadn't received it. after numerous online chats with them they told me to go to the bank to get proof that the money had actually gone out of my account even though i sent them bank statements before showing the money as taken out. i went to my bank, got the proof and sent it off to not receive a reply.

i then contacted them again via online chat and was told again that it showed as pending and not taken out of my account. i kept insisting that it had been taken out and that i want a refund. now they will contact me about it (apparently) within 48 hours! such a joke!

and after reading other reviews i'm worried that i will never see my money again and have no hosting services to show for! i am a single mom and $150 out of my account for nothing is not something i can afford.

i can only warn anyone to never ever use bluehost. they should be charged and go to jail for stealing money from families like that!

Unscrupulous Credit card charges

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This hosting company has charged its customer repeatedly despite closing the website and its hosting services 3 months earlier. The company apologised several times but kept taking money repeatedly. It gave reason "Technical Glitch" from Bluehost side. My other contention with this company is, it has allowed the third party to charge for some hidden add on services without customer consent even when the customer has taken extra care on his part and requested to remove all add on services. The dealings are not entirely transparent. I request the customer to be careful with Bluehost services. I wouldn't recommend, because it has breached the customer trust. Moreover, My suggestions to the customer are not to fall for paid marketing contents and exaggerated and at sometime believable reviews.
